Pain referral: The burning and tingling sensation sounds like either nerve pain or referred heartburn pain. If women have had breast surgery, the affected side/ arm has pain, tingling numbness. Heartburn pains also can be felt outside of the middle of your chest (referred pain is what the definition is). We have many nerves in our axilla so if a nerve is being compressed there, you may also feel pain.
