Can a canker sore near the back of the mouth or on the roof cause your ear on that side to hurt?

It might: Be a result ( the palatial ulcer) of an infection in or around the ear area, are you on meds.? , it can be a side effect of meds. , or due to bacterial imbalance from antibiotics for example , hope that help, see a doctor or preferably an ENT doctor for evaluation.
