Anal fissure: They cannot be fixed by a colonoscopy. What they are likely looking for is to rule out inflammatory bowel disease as a cause of your fissure. They are generally treated conservatively with stool softeners, laxatives and fiber, if not healing then there are medications and creams that can be used to relax the anal sphincter to promote healing. Last resort is surgery.
