Could be many things: Diagnosis of exclusion is ibs. I would suggest you keep track of which foods you eat during the times you have diarrhea. You may want to trial a gluten free or lactose free diet as well.

Water / electrolytes: Good hydration is important. Water is ok most of the time but there may be some who benefit from sports drinks or electrolyte solutions. These tend to have a lot of sugar though.

Virus, bacteria, med: Diarrhea can be acute (short term) such as in viral or bacterial infections or it can be medication induced like overuse of antibiotics or laxatives. Usually replenishment of fluids and electrolytes and avoidance of certain meds can stop the diarrhea. Diarrhea can be chronic (long term)if associated with lactose intolerance, inflammatory bowel disease, or irritable bowel. Tests are usually needed.
