Persistence: Bacterial vaginosis can be chronic and recurrent, but I have never seen a patient who couldn't ultimately be controlled. First, be sure the diagnosis is correct by sending off sensitive testing. Secondly, when controlled, treat with a preventative, like weekly Metrogel or boric acid. Thirdly, try to support the healthy bacteria, lactobacillus, in the vagina with healthy diet and possibly supp.
