Per DSM IV TR: 'general population studies suggest a prevalence of histrionic personality disorder of about 2% - 3%. Rates of about 10 - 15% have been reported in inpatient ; outpatient mental health settings when structured assessment is used.'.

Depends: Epidemiologic studies say about 2%, but the perceived number will vary depending on what kind of work you do and where you live. As a psychiatrist, i see more than my share. So, the 2% number seems low to me.
