Are certain personality characteristics more common in individuals with eating disorders?

Somewhat: Anorexia folks restrict food, are socially inept, have separation anxiety and a distorted body image body, they are often rigid, obsessive compulsive and depressed in their personality style. If anorectics binge & purge, they share characteristics with bulimic people - impulse control, substance abuse, personality disorders (like borderline personality). Suicide's more common in bingers & purgers.

Personality & eating: A person with obsessive-compulsive personality would likely have more issues with food. However, i would recommend caution with making generalizations.
