No: Clomid (clomiphene) is more effective than metformin for ovulation induction and helping you get pregnant. Also Clomid (clomiphene) needs to be taken only for 5 days each cycle, as opposed to metformin which you must take daily. Clomid (clomiphene) does result in 5% of the pregnancies induced being multiple pregnancies - usually twins. It is not the drug that will result in 5-6 babies at a time. That's a different drug regimen.
