Can't hurt!: If nothing more it will take your mind off the unpleasantries of your menses and help you feel good. Sounds like a win-win to me! there are probably intricate hormonal and stress hormones that are released in the process which can ease the discomfort.

Possibly: NSAID’s, SSRI’s, hormone meds, OTC meds containing diuretics, warm bath, heating pad, exercise; acupuncture are excellent for PMS. Avoid caffeine, chocolate, alcohol; salt. Get gyn eval to r/o underlying pathology. Consider omega- 3 fatty acids. Sipping chamomile can dissipate pain.
