Timing: If you've had an operation to repair the patella, most times some motion is allowed early on, but typically full motion is not allowed for 4-6 weeks, depending on the injury and the repair method. When you do exercise walking, ellipticals, and gentle stationary cycling are good. As for weights, avoid exercises like leg extensions, favoring closed chain movements like leg presses. Good luck!
