A member asked:

For those with mds what is the rate at which hb and rbc decrease per year. i know it may vary between patients but on average. is it 1, 2, 3 ...?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unpredictable: Mds is a very complex and variable disease the severity is very variable the hemoglobin is more likely to decline rapidly if the patient presents with a low hemoglobin can be stable if it is near normal to have mds in a male of only 34 years is unusual and other diagnosis such as aplastic anemia and other marrow problems should be excluded if you have only anemia exclude causes of anemia.
