A member asked:

When taking blood pressure at home, should i keep my palms up or down? reading online it says palm up. when they're up i get a slightly lower reading.

Up: Best position for measuring a resting BP is in the seated position with palms up. Best to have been seated for a couple of minutes so that your BP has had time to re-equilibrate after ambulation. I prefer cuff pressures taken from forearm over wrist or finger measurements.
