What are the signs for women about heart attacks?

Short of breath: Shortness of breath is a common heart attack symptom in women and should be investigated. Chest pain/pressure is also a symptom along with discomfort radiating to the arms, neck or back. If these symptoms are exertional there is a high correlation with coronary heart disease. Of note: patients with diabetes may not have symptoms at all (silent ischemia).

Nausea, fatigue.: I would add to the shortness of breath that nausea and fatigue are some symptoms of heart attack described in women... Bottom line is that heart attacks symptoms in women are not always the "crushing chest pain" types, and that if you have any risk factors - especially diabetes, high blood pressure or strong family history - and are above the age of 40, you should be especially cautious.
