A member asked:

Can you drink alcohol when taking hypertension medication?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

In moderation: 1-2 ounces of alcohol per day should not adversely affect your hypertension or your anti hypertensive medications. Actually, there are several long-term studies that suggest 1-2 ounces per day can have positive effects. However, moderate to heavy alcohol consumption is never recommended.
