Wow....: That's a great question. Caffeine is a CNS stimulant. It improves focus, attention and is an antidepressant. During the initial stages of recovery from a concussion you would want to take things slow. You need to reduce the metabolic demands on the brain. We advise our concussed patients to avoid classwork, even reading for the first week or so. So i would avoid caffiene in the first week or so.
