Depends on age: It depends on the child's age. For younger children, keep it simple. Just talk with them about going to the hospital and reassure them that you will be there. For older kids, you may want to look into a pre-surgery program for kids. They do tours and show the kids what to expect. If you can't do that, answer their questions honestly and clearly. If you don't know an answer, call the doctor.
