Most single gene ...: Ivf can be combined with preimplantation genetic diagnosis (pgd) where we test one/ more cells from each developing embryo for: most single gene disorders (diseases caused by 1 gene) such as cystic fibrosis, huntington's, polycystic kidney disease, chromosome rearrangements like translocations, or testing embryos for genetic 'normality' (comprehensive chromosome screening). Not 4 blue eyes, height.

Select Traits on IVF: With the current technology traits cannot be selected using ivf technology such as hair color or intelligence. What can be screened for are the normal human chromosome complement including sex chromosomes. Who knows what the future will bring?
