Pneumonia in a 2 year old child. Is that a minor illness or a serious one?

Varies with kid/Sx: I have treated many whose pneumonia was minor & treated easily at home with oral antibiotics. These often remain playful & active in spite of fever and rapid breathing.I have also treated some that were deeply affected by their illness, refusing to take fluids, play & overall looking bad- that needed several hospital days on IV fluids & meds before they could start playing again. Each case is unique.
