A member asked:

How to know the difference between genital warts and ingrown hair?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Genital warts: Often times the diagnosis of genital warts can be made by simple visual inspection. Lesions are usually fleshy colored, flat or more wart like (think of cauliflower). An ingrown hair usually has a fairly obious dark area within a small fleshy skin bump. If the diagnosis is not clear, sometimes a biopsy is needed.
