What to do if i forgot my lantus (insulin glargine) dose 6 hours ago?

Fair question: Hi. It happens. You can do either of two things. Just use your fast acting insulin (Novolog, Humalog, or Apidra) as needed for the next 18 hours to manage your BG, or take the Lantus (insulin glargine) 6 hours late and your next Lantus (insulin glargine) dose on time, and accept you'll be dose stacking for the first 6 hours of the next dose. Watch your BG carefully during this deviation in your regimen. Good luck!
