Help please i woke up with red and mucusy eye. is this pink eye?

Could be: Is this in one or both eyes? Do the eyes feel as if there is an irritation instead of pain? Is the discharge clear or sticky or is there pus? Is the vision changed? Have you worn contact lenses? Have you swam in a lake or pool? The answer to all of these will determine whether it is pink eye or something more serious. If in doubt check with your ophthalmologist.
