A member asked:

Is having no cervical mucus if you have irregular periods abnormal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Mucus: This would not be unusual if you have never delivered a child/ been in labor enough to dilate your cervix. Your cervix is most likely producing mucus just fine, but the cervical canal where it is produced is very narrow and very little of the mucus may flow outward. It may be "trapped" in the canal - that's perfectly ok. You are having some periods. This would indicate some estrogen production.
