Dog bite: Typical signs of an infection manifest themselves over the next 3-5 days and would include, pain, redness, drainage, decrease strength or function, and warm to the touch. Dogs saliva is however remarkably clean compared to human mouths, and cat teeth are more likely to pierce the skin and inject the bacteria compared to a dogs bite. For the dry skin, i would recommend just watching area closely.
