Yes and no: Your periods will typically be heavier without the Mirena (levonorgestrel) iud in place. The hormone in the Mirena (levonorgestrel) produces a much lighter period. The length of your cycle is an entirely different matter. If your cycle length, from first day to next first day, is less than 26 days you should have this evaluated. It would have nothing to do with the Mirena (levonorgestrel) usually.
