Had iud mirena (levonorgestrel) removed and periods have been heavier and occur sooner than normal. is it normal for my cycle to be messed up for a few months?

The length of your cycle is an entirely different matter. If your cycle length, from first day to next first day, is less than 26 days you should have this evaluated. It would have nothing to do with the Mirena (levonorgestrel) usually.
