A member asked:

Diagnostic diagnosis of isotonic dehydration? is this condition seen anywhere in the bloodwork? obv sodium levels look normal so its not shownthere

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Simple diagnosis: If a person has dropped their body weight by x number of pounds in a short interval, (hours, days) it is water weight or dehydration.Blood work that shown a normal ion balance confirms that dehydration as isotonic.High sodium (or glucose) levels would mean hypertonic, while low sodium levels would correlate with hypotonic.
