CPM and sodium: Central pontine myelinolysisis uncommon. The symptoms depend upon which descending motor pathways are dysrupted and weather or not the tracts or nuclei that control eye movements are affected. It is the rapid correction of a sodium imbalance that is thought to lead to this state. Drinking lots of water can cause hyponatremia not hypernatremia.
