Asiprin: Aspirin is a platelet inhibitor and works great to help prevent strokes and heart attacks. It is not the best for pain relief and tylenol (acetaminophen) typically may work better. I am not sure what kind of heart condition you have to know if its safe. What are you taking the asiprin for? Pain control? Coughing up phlegm can be a sign of bronchitis, a cold, pneumonia, and heart failure.

Yes: Aspirin is ok to take. However, Aspirin is not typically used for cough. Consider cough syrup or allergy medications..
