Can a wide-open mri machine be used for kidneys/abdomen? what r the chances a 5-yr-old could get through test w/o sedation? how risky is the sedation?

Here's my thought...: First, we need to ask if the us study is reasonably enough to be more suggestive of benign cyst and if ct or MRI is really needed. If more favoring benign cyst, a follow-up us in 6-12 months would be sufficient. If really worrying about tumors such as wilm's tumor, ct or MRI is mandatory ; can be done safely under sedation or even anesthesia. Of note, modern monitoring for anesthesia is very safe.
