I never recommend it: Kids are often groggy after a dose of benedryl, which is the main component of otc sleep aids. Beyond that, I do not recommend or ever prescribe sleeping pills for kids.If they have a sleeping disorder, they should be properly evaluated and the origin of their problems solved.
