Yes: That is the point. They increase Dopamine in the synapses in particular parts of the brain, helping to make the synapses work better. In adult who took medicine, those changes can remain in effect without the medication.

Define change ?: The whole idea of an ADHD med is to change your brain chemistry, transiently, while you are medicated so you can function better in some settings. It would not trigger a permanent change.Once you are off the meds, your brain returns to its pre-treatment chemistry.
