Unclear : You did not mention what the medicine is. If is an antidepressant or anti anxiety agent I would taper the drug. Ask your doctor if there are any side effects of the drug you are stopping.

Discontinuing meds.: Depends on the medication, how long u been on it, what other medications are taken concurrently, what it was prescribed for, etc.
