Ovulation Induction: Clomiphene is used as an oral medication for ovulation induction-however it has also been used for improving luteal phase defects (progesterone deficiency) Clomid (clomiphene) helps grow eggs in women who do not ovulate and are not menopausal, grow more eggs in women with unexplained infertility or boost response with hmg or ivf meds in women with poor egg quality.

Three uses: 1. Women with irregular cycles don't ovulate (release an egg) every month. Depending on the cause such as pcos, Clomid (clomiphene) can help you to ovulate, may be combined with metformin if pcos. 2. Women who ovulate regularly can release 2 or 3 eggs in a month with Clomid (clomiphene) increasing chance of pregnancy with 5-10% risk of twins, 1% triplets. 3. Clomid (clomiphene) challenge test is a well-proven test of egg supply.
