How to know if i need eyeglasses with 20/60 vision?

Get checked: If you know you have 20/60 vision, then I assume you have been tested on a visual chart. The way to determine by yourself if eyeglasses might help is to use a needle to punch a few holes in a black sheet of paper, and then look at some object at a distance that seems blurry. If the image clears up while looking through the holes, then eyeglasses can improve the vision.

I just wanted to know if it's normal for vision to curve with the top and bottom of the frame of my eyeglasses. My glasses are an oval shape and my vision seems to distort and curve with the frame at the top and bottom. These aren't new glasses.
