Gum abscess: The cause of the abscess has not been resolved. Your dentist should be able to explain why that has occurred in your particular case. If not, find another dentist. If you have not been treated for this, you need to be.

Recurrent abscess: If you are experiencing recurring swellings on your gums, then you have the signs of a chronic periodontal (gum) infections. If you think you may have a recurrent gum abscess, schedule a dentist appointment as soon as possible.
