Bad strabismus: If your strabismus is exotropic (turing out), and getting worse, may be due to age related loss of accomodation (focusing). When younger, this focusing power helps to keep the eyes more aligned. As we age and go into bifocals, this focuing power (accomodation) is reduced which can result in a drifting out of the eyes.
