Cyst: The trauma from the nipplie piercing likely caused a small cyst to form, which is a lump of grease( sebum )in the area. Try hot compresses for ten minutes every day, but you may to need to have it removed by a doctor. It is not dangerous in any way.

Possible abscess: You may have an infection of the pierced hole site leading to an abscess. This may require an incision and drainage ( Its always important to let the pus out since antibiotics cant swim through pus) Then you need antibiotics by mouth for 10 days or so to make sure that there is no new pus formed now that you have evacuated the pus already . You may see so much relief from pain.

Uncertain: Check for signs of infection: ^'ed redness, warmth, swelling. ^'ed tenderness, pus, red streaking, swollen lymph nodes or fever. Recommend keeping piercing in place unless directed by Dr (if removed – drainage tract will close up w ^'ed risk of abscess formation). Call Dr for medical evaluation. Your Dr may prescribe oral antibiotics or antibiotic ointments to apply to piercing site.
