Find cause : There is no medicine for liver inflammation. First the cause of the problem has to be identified. It could be an infection, cancer, obesity, or toxic reaction to medications.

Find cause: Your need to be worked up for chronic hepatitis b and c, hemochromatosis, autoimmune hepatitis, wilson's, and non-alcoholic fatty liver. Every one of these can kill you if neglected but is manageable. Treat the cause, not the lab value.
