A member asked:

Is taking cucumber bad while one is suffering from kidney disease. i mean renel tubular ascidoses.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

OK: Renal tubular acidosis (RTA) happens when there is impaired reabsorption of bicarbonate and/or impaired acidification by the kidneys. One way to treat RTA is to give alkaline substances (sodium bicarbonate). Cucumbers are considered high alkaline forming foods and should be ok to consume if you have rta.
