A member asked:

20wks sonogram showed mild fetal hydronephorosis 3mm in both kidneys, im 31yrs, 1st pregnancy, havin a boy, quad screen was normal, is it serious?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not uncommon: 4mm is considered the measurement to be concerned about at 20 weeks. Keep a positive outlook and get a followup. Many times the finding of mild renal pelvic distention resolves and is of no consequence.
