Think knee cap: Cracking of the knees, if without any accompanying pain, is unlikely to signify anything serious; the only thing i would be concerned about is chondromalacia, which can occur if your patella (knee cap) is not tracking properly; you might want to have a pt assess you for this; strengthening the quads helps this; cho-pat knee straps can also help (www.Cho-pat.Com); i don't know if chondroitin helps.
