Get psychiatric eval: Your depression sounds severe and requires a psychiatric evaluation. It's hard to say why your depression is so much worse at night but i can say that some people with severe depression are more depressed when they are alone at night. The cutting and the wanting to die are warning signs that you need immediate treatment.
