Call the dentist: Your dentist knows your medical and dental history, as well as the condition of your tooth, what was done, what to expect and what medication was prescribed for you. We know almost nothing about all this information. Please call the dentist whose care you are under and paying for his\her professional services. He\she is responsible for your treatment and knows best how to advise you.

I agree : Root canal treatment is not 100% successful. However it is also possible that your pain in not from the same tooth. Your treating doctor has the advantage of knowing your history. This will assist him/her in diagnosing your current pain. Please contact him/her for help. There is no purpose in your accepting the pain. Good luck -

Something is Amiss: Root canal treatments get rid of infections, so when you say you got a root canal treatment and "it got infected", there is something wrong with that statement. Either it is something else, or it was explained to you wrongly. Ask to see an Endodontist so that you can properly take care of the problem.

Second opinion: In many cases, seeking a second opinion is not only warranted, but necessary. Unless your disease is life threatening and requires emergency care, it is never a bad idea to seek a second opinion. Getting a second opinion helps you feel more confident about your diagnosis and treatment plan.
