A member asked:

For many months, i have had a small hard white cyst on the lateral punctum area of my upper eyelid. it is not irritated or infected. who should i see?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Blocked gland: This is a blocked skin gland. The secretion is a clear mixture of oil and water. If blocked the water is absorbed, leaving a hard lump of white oil. This can be ignored or it can be removed in a simple office procedure with a sterile needle to open the top and cotton tip applicators to squeeze out the oil lump.
