Sore throat causes: Itching and soreness of your throat could be due to allergies and post nasal drainage. It could also be due to a viral or early bacterial infection. If there is no fever yet, you may want to try an otc antihistamine such as zyrtec first. If it does not help and you develop a fever, you should visit your doctor to further evaluate your throat.
