I have allergies, but now my throat is itchy and irritated. it's worse at night and when i wake up it hurts to swallow. is this normal or serious?

Could be infection: This could be either a viral infection or strep infection. If you have fevers, swollen lymph nodes and your neck, severe sore throat and no cough then see your doctor to be checked for strep. If you just have a sore throat and possibly cough and other cold symptoms it is probably viral and should go away on its own in a few days. Drink plenty of water and take ibuprofen as needed.
