Completely different: Pelvic inflammatory disease causes severe lower abdominal pain, however it is usually together with vaginal discharge, painful intercourse or digital vaginal examination by the doctor, you can also get fever. Constipation can cause abdominal pain, however it should respond to laxatives, and pain usually improves with a bowel movement.

Abdominal pain: Constipation implies infrequent bowel movements, pid is an infectious process associated with pain and sometimes vaginal discharge. A good way to determine whether you have pid is whether you experience pelvic pain when walking-this may indicate peritoneal irritation.
