Is prp (platelet rich plasma therapy) effective for severe tendon tears (gluteus minimus and medius)?

PRP unproven: Prp has been used for tendonitis in the elbow but has not been studied in hip muscles. It will not aid in the repair of complete tendon tears, but may aid in the resolution of tendonitis around the hip. If you have a complete tendon tear, you need surgery to repair the ruptured tendons. It is much more likely to have tendonitis which may respond to prp. I would try pt and nsaids before prp.

Platelet Rich Plasma: PRP or platelet rich plasma injection is very effective for a number of indications. These include facial rejuvenation, hair regrowth, sexual rejuvenation, healing musculoskeletal injuries and arthritis, and more.
