Brain issue: Sensory processing disorder is usually diagnosed/treated by an occupational therapist. Ask your doctor for a referral. Affected children have difficulty properly interpreting sensory information. So they may be overly sensitive to sounds, textures or movement. The brain receives messages from the senses and turns them into motor and behavioral responses = processing.
