Since 1972: These types of 'disorders' are not like a disease w/ a bacteria or 'bug' or anything as discrete. The are collections of observed signs that become a focus of study - this was found in 1972 and may help you plan treatment. Yes: Sensory issue are real and a source of considerable misbehavior in children. Usually observed with children who have prolonged outbursts or tantrums without self-soothing.
