Rare muscle tumors: Mazabraud's syndrome is a very rare syndrome of benign tumors in the muscle (muscular myxomas) in people with fibrous dysplasia. The tumors can be multiple, usually affect muscles in the lower extremities, and can recur. The syndrome affects mostly women. The tumors can recur, but each tumor is usually cured with surgical removal. The risk of the tumors becoming malignant (cancerous) is low.
